Two Tory MPs debated the comments of a Conservative colleague about Afghanistan being “peaceful and stable”.
During a statement on Afghan resettlement, Iain Duncan Smith said Tobias Ellwood’s remarks were “not a very welcome statement”.
Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer said the Taliban murdered his friends, it represented a “serious threat to human rights” and criticised its treatment of women.
