Three Aklan municipalities remain under the red zone category for African Swine Fever, with twelve other towns under the pink zone or the buffer zone for ASF, the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Animal Industries said in a report.
According to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Ava Marie Moises on Saturday, the following areas fall under the red zone or provinces with confirmed cases of ASF:
The following areas were placed under the pink zone or buffer zone, which are ASF-free localities inside an infected province or adjacent to Red Zones.
- Kalibo
- Malinao
- Libacao
- Balete
- Madalag
- Makato
- Banga
- New Washington
- Numancia (downgraded from red)
- Lezo (downgraded from red)
- Batan (downgraded from red)
- Nabas (downgraded from red)
- Malay (downgraded from red)
The municipality of Buruanga remains under the yellow zone or surveillance zone due to its high risk for ASF due to a dense population involved in the swine and pork trade.
