The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Saturday announced the donation of its members’ one-meal subsistence allowance to the victims of Typhoon Carina.

AFP Chief General Romeo Brawner said that it is their way of extending additional support to the victims of the bad weather earlier last week.

“The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is extending its support to the victims of Typhoon Carina by donating the equivalent of one meal from their Subsistence Allowance, amounting to P50.00 per member.”

Brawner also explained that the various Search, Rescue, and Retrieval teams are also still deployed in Metro Manila and Southern and Northern Luzon to help in humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts.

Brawner added that said collective effort and selfless sacrifices reflect the AFP’s commitment to aiding those affected by this disaster, demonstrating solidarity and compassion during these challenging times.

In line with the President’s instructions, the AFP is assisting Local Government Units (LGUs) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in providing immediate needs to isolated areas, conducting Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA), and facilitating recovery and relief operations.
