The well-respected US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson recently welcomed over a thousand guests at an extravagant celebration of the 248th anniversary of the United States’ independence and the 70th Philippine-American Friendship Day held at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
The meaningful event, attended by distinguished names from the government, led by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, the diplomatic corps, and the business and social circles, highlighted the enduring alliance between the United States and the Philippines, with DFA UnderSecretary for bilateral relations and ASEAN affairs Ma. Theresa Lazaro joining Ambassador Carlson in a toast to the strong ties between the two countries.
The evening was marked by lively performances of American music genres featuring talented Filipino singers Jed Madela, Kate Torres, Jason Dy, and Khimo Gumatay.
Adding to the festivities, everyone was tantalized by the culinary delights of popular American food brands in the country. It was a jubilant gathering that underscored the deep historical and cultural connections that bind the two nations.
An extravagant soiree for Evelyn
A delightful evening unfolded at Blackbird at the Nielson Tower restaurant in Makati City as the generous Connie Haw and the ever-thoughtful Marissa Fenton hosted an intimate dinner for the birthday of the elegant Evelyn Fraser.
The ambiance was brimming with warmth and laughter as the celebrator’s family and closest friends were all present, creating a memorable gathering that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
