Have basketball star-turned San Juan alderman James Yap and Italian wife Michela Cazzola broken up?
While this is Cristy Fermin's latest buzz on “Showbiz Now Na,” she hopes there's hardly any tinge of truth to it.
However, a fellow scribe has long before gotten wind of the separation based on the absence of James' recent posts on Instagram.
James' last posts included photos taken of him with his wife and two kids MJ and Francesca in April 2023. This was followed by his birthday greeting to Michela in October.
James, however, didn't let this last June slip by without greeting his daughter on her sixth birthday.
In between, all that James' Instagram posts were his photos taken outside the country.
Still, according to unconfirmed reports, the couple's separation resulted in Michela's bringing her kids to her native Italy leaving James behind.
If true, the James-Michela marital falling out reminds showbiz of exactly the same scenario involving Paolo Contis and LJ Reyes.
Back in 2022, LJ broke up with Paolo and left for New York in a huff with their only child Summer. LJ likewise brought her son Aki by Paulo Avelino.
Meanwhile, James' former partner Kris Aquino has long before become friends with Michela.
Prior to her US trip to seek medical treatment, Kris and Michela used to exchange pleasantries once in a while, catching up with each other's life acrivities.
At present, Bimby — Kris' son by James — is in town. James is expected to keep tabs with Bimby.
It is uncertain though if Bimby is just as eager and excited to see his dad.

MARCOS loyalists will sure be delighted to know that Daryll Yap's period movie Maid in Malacañang will run as a TV series.
Taping is scheduled in September for the 16-episode series.
It's uncertain though if the original ensemble led by Cesar Montano (playing the senior Marcos) is the same cast in the TV adaptation.
The controversial Viva outing also starred Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda, Diego Loyzaga as Bongbong, Cristine Reyes as Imee and Ella Cruz as Irene.
The film in its entirety though is based on the vantage point of the Marcos' househelp who recounted the last 72 hours of the First Family before their exile in Hawaii.
By the way, this was reported over ABS-CBN News: does it follow that the TV version will air on the network which was first closed down during the turbulent Marcosian rule?
If so, do we smell a “hidden agenda” somewhere? In exchange for a franchise grant, that is?

GUESS who? Nobody wants to believe that a pretty actress (PA) had delivered well at a company event of which she was appointed judge.
The unknowing fans lapped it up when the PA brilliantly translated the Filipino-worded question to English upon the male contestant's polite request.
But how true that the team behind the event had already anticipated the PA wouldn't have an easy time doing an on-the-spot translation, that she had already been fed with the question in English?
In fairness, the PA is one celebrity who's not ashamed to admit her own inadequacies.
