An aspiring Navy cadet fell from the North Tower of the controversial New Senate Building (NSB) in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig late Thursday evening, with authorities confirming the incident by Friday morning.

In a report to Senate Secretary Rey Bantug, field engineer William Hong said the victim hastily entered the structure through the main gate at around 9:00 p.m. The man was chased by his companion and the guards assigned at the construction site.

Hong said they searched the building and reviewed CCTV cameras, but they could not see the guy. At around 10:00 p.m., the victim reportedly fell from the North Tower and hit the ground level of the NSB, which is still being constructed at present. The victim died on the spot.

Authorities from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Navy responded to the site. Members of the PNP Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) came to investigate and removed the body from the NSB at 1:15 a.m.
