Indie pop folk band Ben&Ben and P-pop boy band SB19 had their official YouTube accounts hacked, with the channel names being replaced with Ripple, a fintech company engaged in cryptocurrency.

In a post shared on X and Instagram, the nine-piece band informed their fans that they had been hacked.

“Our team is working on fixing things ASAP. We’ll keep you updated, Liwanag,” the band said initially.

Hours later, the band announced that they had managed to recover a significant part of the channel from the hackers and were awaiting further response from their partners.

However, a livestream about cryptocurrency featuring Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse had yet to be taken down as of writing.

Prior to this, SB19 was also hacked, with the same incidents of name changes and livestreaming occurring. Fortunately, the group’s management has already regained control of its account and restored its content.

Several fans on X also pointed out that singer-songwriter Rico Blanco’s YouTube channel had also been a victim of the same hacking scheme, with the channel now removed from the platform for violating community guidelines.
