Senator Bong Go said that he was stripped of his security detail even before Vice President Sara Duterte lost hers.

Siguro mga three weeks ago pa ito,” the senator said in an audio record sent by his staff.

(She is not alone because first of all, I was also stripped of my security. It even happened before her. I think this was three weeks ago.)

Pero ako naman sanay naman ako, kahit saan naman tayo naglalakad tayo,” added the long time aide of former president Rodrigo Duterte, the Vice President’s father.

(I’m still somehow concerned. As a senator, I go to every corner of the Philippines. So the risks and the threats to our lives are there. But I’m used to walking alone.)

Sara earlier cried foul after the Philippine National Police pulled out 75 cops from her security detail which she believes was a form of “political harassment.”

The PNP has yet to comment on the vice president’s remarks, but the country’s top cop Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil issued a directive to rationalize the deployment of the Police Security and Protection Group personnel to achieve a police-to-population ratio of 1:500.

Further, Go reminded the police force not to engage in any political agenda. ‘

Maging propesyunal sila at just do what is right,” he said.

(I’m reminding the leadership and the whole force of the national police to remain faithful to their sworn duty and never engage in any political agenda. Be professional and just do what is right.)—LDF, GMA Integrated News
