CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A Philippine Coast Guard K-9 dog intercepted a passenger baggage containing nine packs of shabu, resulting in the arrest of a suspected drug courier at Wawa port in Nasugbu, Batangas on Thursday.

Captain Jerome Jeciel, Coast Guard-Batangas commander, said the 28-year-old suspect was already onboard a passenger vessel when personnel conducted a routine check using their K-9 dog.

The suspect, whose name was withheld pending investigation, was allegedly on his way to deliver the illegal drug to Lubang town in Occidental Mindoro.

He was later turned over to the Nasugbu police, which filed a case for possession of illegal drugs.
