THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is pushing for the passage of House Bill (HB) 4933, or the International Maritime Trade Competitiveness Act, to address high shipping costs that are burdening traders.

In a statement on Thursday, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual said the proposed legislation would help solve the issue of unreasonable shipping charges that have been weighing on importers and exporters for years.
