THE innovation from Vietnam uses agricultural waste. The project from the Philippines turns to rice straw residue. Both have the same goal: to convert these materials, considered throwaways, into methane biogas, which has long been considered an alternative to fossil fuels.
This exploration was the core of the recent meeting between the Laguna-based Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (Searca) and Can Tho University’s (CTU) College of Environment and Natural Resources (CENRes).
