Up to 229 families were displaced after a fire hit a residential area in Camino Nuevo, Zamboanga City on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Of the 229 families displaced, 116 are house owners, 34 are renters, 74 are boarders, and three are sharers.
According to the local government, seven people sustained minor injuries.
The fire that reached the third alarm broke out at round 4:40 p.m. and was put out at 9:25 p.m.
Damage was estimated at P1 million.
Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
The fire victims are taking shelter temporarily at the Camino Nuevo covered court and were given relief items, including food, mats, blankets, and hygiene kits.
A community kitchen was also set up at the evacuation site.—RF, GMA Regional TV
