BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A fire of still unknown origin destroyed a portion of Baguio’s first-ever shopping mall yesterday.
The fire reportedly broke out at around 1 a.m. on the third floor of the Maharlika Livelihood Complex, which was built in 1982.
Initial reports said a security guard, who saw thick smoke coming from one of the stalls, alerted a fire station located more than 300 meters away from the establishment.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 4:09 a.m. and fire out at 4:30 a.m.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
