FIRST lady Liza Araneta-Marcos joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), the PCG said Tuesday.
The wife of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was given the honorary rank of vice admiral, PCG spokesman Armand Balilo said in a statement.
Balilo said the first lady thanked the PCG for its role in the West Philippine Sea.

She was joined by her son, William Vincent Marcos, as well as Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista during the ceremony.
The PCGA is a uniformed civilian volunteer organization that is attached to the PCG and provides support in peace promotion. CATHERINE S. VALENTE
