Flooding affects bus trips; train ops continue

MANILA, Philippines — Several bus and train lines were affected by the floods triggered by the combined effects of Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) and the southwest monsoon (habagat) on Wednesday.

The EDSA Carousel will only reach Ortigas from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the landport said on Facebook.

Flooding was also reported in the Carousel’s stops in Muñoz and Monumento.

The PITX also said that some areas in Pasay City and Manila are not passable.

Trips to Baguio, San Carlos in Pangasinan, Dagupan and Olongapo were put on hold.

For trips to MOA-Buendia, canceled trips have been diverted to Aseana loop, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Sapang-Palay/Fairview.

Meanwhile, the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) reported that there was above-knee-level flooding at the V. Mapa station while train operations were still ongoing. Gutter-deep flooding was reported at the north entrance of Recto station.

The MRT-3 said that full operations are underway.
