The French Air Force made a courtesy visit to the AFP General Headquarters on Monday to tackle mutual defense opportunities in military cooperation between France and Philippines.

Brigadier General Guillaume Thomas, the commander of PEGASE 24, is currently leading the annual mission in the Philippines.

PEGASE 24 aims to showcase France’s combat power and build relations with host nations.

He was welcomed and met by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Lieutenant General Charlton Sean Gaerlan.

During the visit, both leaders discussed mutual defense interests and opportunities for enhancing military cooperation between two nations.

Lieutenant General Gaerlan expressed his appreciation for the visit and highlighted the importance of such engagements in strengthening defense ties and fostering international collaboration.

“The visit of Brigadier General Thomas and the PEGASE 24 mission underscores the strong and growing defense relationship between the Philippines and France. It also signifies a step forward in defense cooperation and reinforces the shared commitment of both nations to maintaining peace and security in the region,” AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad said.
