Senator Christopher Lawrence Go on Monday echoed the appeal of Vice President Sara Duterte to the Philippine National Police (PNP) not to allow the organization to be used for any political agenda.
Go was sought for his comment on the open letter posted by Duterte on her official Facebook page, in which she assailed PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil for his alleged lies on the withdrawal of her police protection detail.
The PNP recalled the 75 police security assigned to the Vice President, describing it as a “clear case of political harassment.
As vice chair of the Senate Committee on Public Order and a citizen of this nation, Go noted he is deeply concerned about recent incidents involving the PNP.
During these times when several challenges were happening in our country, he reminded the PNP leadership to remain loyal to their commitments.
He told them that in doing the right thing, policemen should always stay impartial, not taking any side.
In staying behind the back of the Vice President, who had also resigned as Secretary of the Department of Education, Go assured he remains fully supportive of our uniformed personnel.
Go has been a longtime aide of the Vice President’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
