#FriendshipGoals!
Three “Hiking Titas” from Davao achieved their goal of conquering Mt. Guiting-Guiting in Romblon, known as one of the most technical mountains to hike in the Philippines.
According to Kuya Kim on “24 Oras,” Tuesday, it was the women’s friendship goal to hike Mt. Guiting-Guting, so they made sure to have a ball when they finally got to the top.
Danly, 45, Nelieta, 65, and Rosebel, 49, donned fun Filipiniana-inspired costumes as they took photos on top of Mt. Guiting-Guiting, complete with hand fans.
“Na-inspire ako sa mga umakyat na 40 [years old], kasi ‘yung edad nila is ‘di na biro eh,” said tour organizer Junric Herbito.
Meanwhile, Nelieta shared they wanted to test their capacity because many people say it’s hard to hike Mt. Guiting-Guiting. She added that they would go to the gym every day to prepare themselves for the hike.
There are many health benefits to hiking, which the “Hiking Titas” have shown can be achieved even by those in their middle age. According to Kuya Kim, hiking has physical and mental benefits, such as strengthening the cardiovascular system, the muscles, and bones. It also helps in one’s mental health, from lessening anxiety, stress, and depression to promoting mental clarity.
