The internet is the top source of news for Filipinos, Publicus Asia’s PAHAYAG Second Quarter survey showed.
The survey showed that 68 percent of respondents said that the internet is their main source of political news. This was followed by television at 66 percent.
Social media, primarily Facebook, is a significant source of news, with 63 percent of respondents relying on it for daily updates.

The nationwide poll, conducted last June 15 to 19, underscored the persistent influence of digital platforms in shaping public opinion across all demographics.
The survey showed that GMA7 led television news sources, with a notable increase in trust ratings from 47 percent to 53 percent.
Radio, while less frequently used for daily news updates, remains moderately trusted by those who do tune in. DZRH, Bombo Radyo, and DZBB were the top radio stations for news content, each receiving trust ratings of around 33-34%.
