MANILA, Philippines — Visayas, Mindanao and Mimaropa are affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the state-run weather bureau reported.

In its morning bulletin on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Mimaropa will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of Mindanao will have isolated rain showers and thunderstorms because of the ITCZ. Mimaropa is Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan.

The ITCZ is where winds from the northern and southern hemisphere converge and would cause bad weather.

Meanwhile, easterlies or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean will affect the rest of the country, according to the Pagasa.

As a result, Bicol and Quezon province will experience cloudy skies with scattered showers or thunderstorms, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
