Fans wondered why Dennis Trillo attended the GMA Gala 2024 alone at the Manila Marriott Grand Ballroom. His wife, Jennylyn Mercado, was not there, sparking rumors that she might transfer to ABS-CBN, especially since she was also missing from GMA’s latest station ID.

To address the fans’ concerns, Jennylyn’s hairstylist, Bianca Anne Vergara, took to social media to explain her absence. Vergara revealed that Jennylyn had an early pictorial that day and had planned to wear the gown for the event. However, her eldest son, Alex Jazz, fell ill, prompting her to prioritize her duties as a mother. Her team promised to make up for her absence next year.

Regarding the persistent network transfer rumors, Jennylyn’s manager, Becky Aguila, confirmed her loyalty to GMA. Aguila stated, “I just want to clarify to those who keep insinuating about the issue of a network transfer that Jennylyn is a loyal artist of GMA and will always remain loyal as long as her mother network wants her to stay. She was absent from the station ID simply because she was unavailable that day. Rest assured, GMA extended an invitation to her, which we very much appreciate.”

Jane de Leon denies romance rumors with Rob Gomez

Actress Jane de Leon has strongly denied rumors that she and Kapuso actor Rob Gomez are romantically involved.

Speculation arose after the Kapamilya star uploaded a video in which she was seen eating Ichiran Ramen in a Taipei restaurant, with Rob spotted beside her. This led to viewers jumping to conclusions.

In a recent TV interview, Jane clarified the situation: “When I uploaded the video to my Instagram account—and I rarely post—I accidentally panned the camera to Rob. The next thing we knew, we became an article. I feel bad for Rob because he apologized to me. He told me it’s not nice that I was dragged into the issue.”

The two are co-stars in the horror film Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital, a Philippine adaptation of the South Korean movie Haunted Asylum, with most scenes being shot in a hospital in Taiwan. The film, which also stars Enrique Gil, Alexa Miro, and MJ Lastimosa, is one of the entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

When asked about her love life, Jane shared, “Well, there are those who are sending feelers. I’m open to entertaining them.”
