The Karaoke World Championships (KWC) 2024 Luzon leg audition brought a thrilling display of vocal talent to SM Pampanga on 27 July 2024! The New Channel (TNC), in collaboration with Praxis and True Creators Studios, for the third time transformed the SM stage once again into a battleground for aspiring singers to unleash their vocal talent. Aspiring singers from across the region gathered to showcase their vocal prowess and compete for a chance to represent Luzon on the national stage and perhaps on the global stage in Finland this October.
The stage was set ablaze with electrifying performances as each contestant poured their heart and soul into their rendition, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and judges.
The esteemed panel of judges, composed of KWC Philippines co-producers; Apple Esplana-Manansala of The New Channel, Gladys Basinillo of Praxis, and Mercy Joy Mesina of True Creator Studios, as well as the Country General Manager of Fullerton Health PH and one of TNC’s KOL, Carmie de Leon, had their work cut out as they assessed each performance based on vocal prowess, stage presence, and overall impact.
Amidst the fierce competition, one aspiring singer stood out and earned a spot on the national finals. Danilo Lipaopao Jr., a 32-year-old freelance singer from South Caloocan, won with his incredible rendition of “Tila” by Lani Misalucha. His exceptional vocal talent and amazing performance impressed the judges and captivated the audience. Alquin Gutierrez Bonguit and Clare Manay Borja also showcased amazing performances earning them the 1st and 2nd runner-up, respectively.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and it had truly been an unforgettable experience. Beyond the incredible performances, the camaraderie among the contestants was evident. Despite the competitive nature of the event, there was a genuine sense of support and encouragement.
