Krishnah Marie Gravidez of Baguio City was named Miss World Philippines 2024 during the live coronation night held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday. She was crowned by Miss World Philippines 2023, Gwendolyne Fourniol.
Gravidez, born in Ilocos Sur, was supposed to be the country’s representative in Miss Charm 2024 but resigned and gave up her right in June to compete in Miss World Philippines 2024. Gravidez also took home the Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Photogenic special awards.
Gravidez, 23, is a self-supporting student in civil engineering at the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan, using her prizes from beauty pageants to support her education.
During the Top 10 question and answer final round, Gravidez was asked, “Should inclusivity be a top priority among pageants?”
She answered, “Pageantry is a platform where we express ourselves as women and men. I feel like this is a great platform for us to promote our advocacies, the causes that we are fighting for, and the things that we love. So, I think that in a world where we’re evolving, I think we, as humans, should evolve too.”
Gravidez is an advocate for animal welfare and the founder of the non-profit Colors of Kindness charity, which supports children and youth welfare.
Dia Mate, a 22-year-old singer/songwriter and graduate of Communications Technology at Ateneo de Manila University, was named Reina Hispanoamericana Filipina 2024. An advocate for mental health awareness and preventing violence against women and children, Mate teaches music at the CRIBS Foundation Inc., an orphanage and rehabilitation center for abandoned babies and abused teenage girls.
Other title winners were Miss Multinational Philippines 2024, Nikki Buenafe; Miss Tourism Philippines 2024, Patricia Bianca Tapia; and Face of Beauty, Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano. Jasmine Omay was named 1st Princess, while Sophia Bianca Santos was named 2nd Princess.
