A 39-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed when it hit a dog in Barangay Libjo, Batangas City.
The man was on his way to work at a convenience store when the dog crossed the road.
According to the police, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown off onto the street after hitting the dog.
Sharen Ama, Chief of the Public Information Office of the Batangas Component City Police Station, said.
The dog was not found.
The man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
In response to the accident, Barangay Libjo officials announced plans to intensify efforts to capture stray dogs in the area.
A local ordinance strictly enforces Republic Act No. 9482, also known as the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007, which prohibits stray dogs.
—GMA Regional TV
