Sen. Nancy Binay has said her sister, outgoing Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay-Campos, could possibly endorse her for mayor in the coming elections.

“Maybe, but nothing’s compulsory,” Binay said in Filipino in an interview over ABS-CBN Teleradyo Service.

However, Nancy said she has not declared her mayoralty run. She is presently moving around the city to get the pulse of the Makati voters.

Although Makati is a political bailiwick of the Binays, she wants to know if residents still want another “Binay” to lead them.

The senator’s parents, former Vice President Jejomar Binay and Dra. Elenita Binay, along with her brother Junjun Binay also served as Makati Mayor.

In the event that Nancy finally decides to seek the mayoralty seat, she will face Rep. Luis Campos, whose term ends June 2025 after sitting as Makati congressman for two terms or six years. Campos is the husband of Abigail.

The senator also reiterated she will campaign for her sister, who is eyeing a Senate seat. She will endorse Abigail and ask the help of her political friends and supporters to help her sister in her senatorial bid.

On the squabble between her and the Makati mayor, Nancy said without expounding: “As what I have been saying, at the end of the day, we are both Binay.”
