The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday announced that its Dangerous Drugs Division (DDD) arrested a Vietnamese national for selling illegal drugs in Paranaque City.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the foreigner was arrested in a buy-bust operation on July 10 after he sold ecstasy and ketamine to a poseur buyer.
“After follow up, nag apply kami ng search warrant para ma-search namin ‘yung bahay niya, and millions ng amount ng ketamine and ecstasy ay natagpuan sa bahay niya,” Santiago said in a press conference.
(We applied for a search warrant so we could search his condominium unit and we found millions worth of ketamine and ecstasy.)
The NBI said it found hundreds of ecstasy tablets and several grams of ketamine in the living room and bedroom, as well as boxes of teddy bears where the drugs will be hidden.
“Dito niya ilalagay ‘yung kanyang mga ketamine at ‘yung ecstasy for delivery kaya hindi mahahalata… So ‘yun ang style niya to deliver this drug sa kanyang mga client,” Santiago said.
(He would place the ketamine and ecstasy inside for delivery so it won’t be noticeable… That’s his style to deliver the drug to his clients.)
According to the agency, a tablet of ecstasy is worth P2,000 while ketamine is worth P12,000 per gram.
Aside from this, the NBI said they found documents showing that the suspect was granted a 9G working visa, which appeared to be falsified. Authorities also recovered weighing scales, bundles of cash, and plastic sachets.
The NBI said a complaint for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 has been filed against the Vietnamese before the City Prosecutor of Paranaque.
Additional complaints will be filed against him for falsification of documents and illegal use of aliases, according to the NBI.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
