AN estimated P212 million worth of counterfeit luxury products, including Louis Vuitton and Rimowa, were seized by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Binondo, Manila.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago said that the operation stemmed from a complaint regarding the rampant selling of counterfeit products in several stores in 168 Shopping Mall and 999 Shopping Mall located in the district.
Operatives from the NBI-Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) immediately verified the information and upon confirmation, applied for search warrants against the establishments, which were subsequently granted by the court.
