NDRRMC: 2 reported dead in Northern Mindanao, Davao due to Habagat

Two people were reported dead in Northern Mindanao and Davao due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.

In its latest report, the NDRRMC said one was confirmed dead in Northern Mindanao. 

The cadaver of the 47-year-old woman was found floating in Pulangi River in Kabacan, North Cotabato, according to the NDRRMC.

Two people were also reported injured and one was reported missing in Northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, one fatality in Davao Region has yet to be validated.

Damage to agriculture worth P17,879,687 was reported in Zamboanga and Northern Mindanao, the NDRRMC said.

Around 73 houses were damaged—43 partially and 30 totally—worth P2,116,000.

For infrastructure, the reported damage was at P700,000 in Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Soccsksargen.

A domestic flight was canceled in Zamboanga. One area in the region also experienced communication line issues.

Meanwhile, an affected seaport has resumed operation.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
