On Friday night at the Araneta Coliseum, Original Pinoy Music (OPM) was vibrantly alive. It was a big celebration of music and community, showing how much Filipinos love their own music.

As a concertgoer, I was swept away by the deafening cheers from the crowd—a sound I hadn’t heard at a local concert in years.

Several of the finest OPM acts share the stage for the concert

BINI and SB19, in particular, own the stage like the main characters of the show. Their infectious, high-energy tunes and powerful hits whipped the crowd into a frenzy. It makes me believe that one of these days, either of these groups could confidently say “you’re the best crowd in the world” while performing at their homecourt, a phrase usually reserved for foreign artists performing in the Philippines.

The audience at Puregold’s Nasa Atin ang Panalo Thanksgiving Concert in the Big Dome was thunderous and full of energy, making the show the music event of the year and a tough act to follow.

The concert, which opened at 7:30, featured exceptional performances and surprise collaborations from SB19, BINI, Flow G, and SunKissed Lola. OPM fans were treated to special appearances by Gloc-9 and Skusta Clee, too.

During BINI’s “Salamin, Salamin” number, SB19 member Justin surprised the crowd by dancing with the girl group.

“Memorize niya! Walang nagturo. He did not need us,” BINI member Maloi told the crowd right after the performance.

Similarly, the Big Dome erupted in cheers when BINI members Colet, Sheena, Gwen, and Stacey joined the P-pop Kings for their hit “Gento.”

Meanwhile, SB19’s Pablo, Ken, and Josh teamed up with Flow G during his performance of “High Score.” Skusta Clee and Gloc-9 also took the stage with Flow G.

The concert also had an impressive lineup of opening acts, including Letters from June, Esay, and Kahel, who wowed the audience with their unique sounds.

“The Nasa Atin Ang Panalo Thanksgiving concert is a big milestone for Puregold. Celebrating 25 years and 500 stores, we have paved the way for others to create their own Panalo stories. This event is our way of thanking our loyal shoppers and the community that helped us reach this point,” Puregold Price Club Inc. President Vincent Co shared in a statement after the show.
