THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will enforce the three-day suspension of permits to carry firearms outside of residence in the National Capital Region as part of security preparations for the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday.
The suspension will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on July 20 and will end at 12:01 a.m. on July 23.
“This suspension is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and security during the event,” the PNP said in an advisory.
PNP spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo said the security preparations for the SONA are in their final stage.
