Residents of Tupi, South Cotabato, cast ballots on Saturday over whether or not to approve the establishment of a new barangay in their town.
Voting began at 7 a.m. up until 3 p.m. in three barangays (Cebuano, Linan and Miasong) in light of the proposal to create Barangay Juan-Loreto Tamayo.
A total of 9,765 voters in Tupi were eligible to participate in the plebiscite, which was conducted pursuant to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 158, s. 2023.
