COTABATO CITY, Philippines — An illegal gun dealer shot dead a police informer in a sting operation late Friday in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police director, said the suspect shot informer Datudido Mamaluba dead after realizing that he was actually transacting with police officers for the sale of three rifles.
He added that the gun dealer, who goes by the aliases Kits and Kuramber, is now the subject of a manhunt by the Sultan Kudarat police and Maguindanao del Norte provincial police.
Tanggawohn said the dealer, whose real identity has not been established yet, pulled out a gun and shot at Mamaluba and the Sultan Kudarat police team led by Lt. Col. Esmael Madin.
