The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) is set to bring the TravelTour Expo, the largest travel trade event in the country, to Visayas and Mindanao this July.

Since 1993, the association has been holding the event in Metro Manila as an annual market for discounted travel deals catered to its members, which has been growing significantly each year. In celebration of its 31st iteration, the expo will be heading to the Visayas and Mindanao regions for the first time.

“It is our first venture outside of Metro Manila, making it a historic occasion,” said PTAA President and TTE 2024 VisMin Edition Evangeline Tankiang Manotok during the upcoming event’s press conference last June 25.

Held at the Limketkai Atrium in Cagayan de Oro from July 19 to 21, TTE VisMin will have more than 50 exhibitors that will have airlines, hotels, restauranteurs, and tourism boards showcase their offerings through interactive exhibits and booths. Attendees will be able to avail of exclusive discounts on flights, accommodations, and tours as well as destination packages and local Yakan weavers.

Speaking on why Cagayan de Oro was chosen to host the first TTE VisMin, Manotok shared how the city’s unique qualities would help the association achieve its goal of promoting the expo.

“Cagayan de Oro is the city of golden friendship, which stands proudly in the heart of Mindanao. We believe this vibrant and welcoming city will bring us good fortune and foster lasting business relationships,” said Manotok.

The event will also allow attendees to connect with travel experts based in Visayas and Mindanao, who will be able to share information about unique destinations and help them plan their trips and excursions. Apart from the booths of participating exhibitors, the event will also feature other fun activities for attendees such as raffle draws, corporate game shows, presentations, and a quiz bee challenge.

With the event being mounted in partnership with the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and Unionbank along with the support of Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu Pacific, Go Negosyo, Latitude, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, Philippines Airlines, and When in Manila, it is expected to draw about 20,000 to 40,000 people across the region.

Alongside the TTE 2024 VisMin edition, the PTAA will also be holding the 9th International Travel Trade Expo 2024 VisMin Edition with 38 international tour operators and agents as well as 65 local travel agents, allowing them to connect, showcase travel packages and services, while also promoting the offerings of Cagayan de Oro to international tourists and investors.

“By showcasing our stunning city to the world, we can drive tourism and celebrate the unique charm of our nation,” said Manotok.

The 31st TTE 2024 VisMin edition will be open from 10 am until 7 pm while the 9th International Travel Trade Expo 2024 VisMin Edition will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
