KUALA LUMPUR — Team Secret and LGD Gaming came up with huge sweep wins over their Brazilian counterparts to set up an all-Malaysian championship duel in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 on Saturday at Sunway Velocity.
Team Secret pulled off a clean 3-0 victory to dethrone Season 1 champion Vovo Keyd Stars while LGD Gaming sent Loops packing with a similar 3-0 triumph during their semifinals matches.
Team Secret, which parades a Filipino in import in Eleazar “Azar” Salleh, has yet to drop a single game in the entire tournament following a 2-0 win-loss card in group stage and clean slate in the playoffs, beating Team Vitality in the quarterfinals to advance to the top four.
Likewise, LGD Gaming remains unbeaten also after breezing past Impunity and RRQ in the preliminaries before sending AG Global packing during their quarterfinals encounter.
With a potential tournament sweep at stake, both teams are expected to go all out in their finals clash. Team Secret and LGD Gaming will dispute the title in front of the home crowd on Sunday.
Aside from sweeping the Invitational Season 2 altogether, Team Secret and LGD Gaming are also duking it out for a massive USD 300,000 prize pool.
