THE Department of Health (DoH) said on Thursday the P27.5 billion for the health emergency allowance (HEA) of government medical workers came from the unused funds of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
In a Viber interview with The Manila Times, Albert Domingo, DoH spokesman, said that out of 89.9 unused funds from PhilHealth that were returned to the National Treasury, P20 billion were used to partially fund the health care workers’ emergency allowance.
