QUEZON CITY authorities announced on Wednesday the arrest of two of three alleged male robbers who stabbed and seriously wounded an 18-year-old female student of the University of the Philippines in Diliman campus.
BGen. Redrico Maranan of the Quezon City Police District said the arrested duo were minors — 14 and 15 years old — and both are residents of Barangay Krus na Ligas.
Anonas Police Station (PS-9) commander LtCol. Zachary Capellan said the two young suspects were arrested at past 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
“Their cohort, a 16-year-old, who remains at large, was caught on CCTV heading to the minors’ house, where the arrest took place,” Maranan said.
The victim, identified as Irish Lu Cortel Pimentel, of Pook Libis, Barangay UP, is still being treated at the Diliman Doctor’s Hospital for stab wounds.
Reports indicated that she was walking in front of the College of Electrical Engineering inside the UP campus along Valenzuela Street at past 8 p.m. on Monday when the robbers attacked her.
A police report said that one of the robbers stabbed the victim several times after she shouted for help.
The trio fled with the victim’s Samsung phone, identification card, ATM card and P500 cash.
