VERITAS Maritime Corp. (VMC) recently celebrated its 35th anniversary, highlighting its commitment to providing jobs for Filipino seafarers and strengthening ties with Japanese shipowners.

Jiro Marquez, president of Veritas, delivered this message during the event held at the Manila Hotel, acknowledging the company’s milestones and the people who made it possible.

Marquez also recognized the government agencies, maritime leaders, associations and educational institutions that have collaborated with VMC over the years. He emphasized the company’s dedication to serving the maritime industry with integrity, excellence and a commitment to innovation.

Marquez succeeded his father, Ericson Marquez, as president of Veritas five years ago. Veritas is part of a maritime Group founded by his grandfather, the late Ponciano Marquez, who pioneered the country’s long-standing partnership with Japanese shipowners and provided jobs onboard their vessels.
