Education Assistant Secretary Francis Cesar Bringas announces in a press conference on July 13, 2024 that a third-party investigation will be conducted to verify if the oval track at Cebu City Sports Center, currently used for the Palarong Pambansa, meets the international standard of 400 meters. Concerns arose when reports surfaced that the technical committee of the national sporting event found the oval to measure 398 meters, two meters short of the required length. Bringas said that resolving the oval’s measurement issue was crucial as record-breaking performances logged during the Palarong Pambansa would not be recognized.
