MORE than 100 volunteers from global transportation company FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. This beach cleanup activity was conducted in collaboration with its partner, local nonprofit organization Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation.

FedEx also donated P1 million to Gawad Kalinga to support programs in select areas in Zambales and Metro Manila, such as workshops that will empower local communities to shift to more sustainable and greener practices. The volunteers shared insights on the impact of climate change on coastal communities, the importance of preventing plastic pollution on marine life and sustainable waste management. FedEx also donated recycling bins to the local authorities and community leaders to encourage the recycling, recovery and upcycling of used materials.
