The Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) has recommended the lifting of the state of calamity in the city as the city’s water supply returns to normal.
The water level at the Pasonanca diversion weir has reportedly remained normal at 74.20 meters.
According to the Zamboanga City Water Distrcit (ZCWD), the water supply is now back to normal as its water treatment facility can already produce more than 78.5 million liters per day to serve its consumers.
The CDRRMC resolution recommending the lifting of the state of calamity is set to be submitted to the City Council.
The decision to lift the state of calamity is also based on the state weather bureau PAGASA’s forecast, which said that the city will continue to experience rains as a prelude to La Niña.
