Two senior citizens were killed after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Fortune, Marikina City early Wednesday morning.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), the victims were an 80-year-old male and an 84-year-old female.
More or less P200,000 worth of properties were damaged including 11 houses and establishments, one of which was totally burned.
At least 24 families or 94 individuals were affected, the BFP-NCR said,
The fire reached first alarm at 12:36 a.m. and was raised to second alarm at 12:45 a.m. It was declared out at 1:39 a.m.
