2024 Bar Exams: Road closures, routes and traffic advisories

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court on Thursday released traffic advisory for the 2024 Bar Examinations, noting some road closures around campuses where the exams will be conducted.

Roads around the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and the Central Philippine University in Visayas, in particular, will be affected by the rerouting schemes.

Exam days. The exams are scheduled on September 8 and 15, both falling on a Sunday, and on September 11, a Wednesday.

Testing centers. The full list of the local testing centers nationwide can be found here.

This year’s examinations will cover the following six core subjects: Political and Public International Law (15%); Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%); Civil Law (20%); Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%); Criminal Law (10%); and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).

UST

For September 8 and 11, “assisted traffic management” will be implemented on the westbound lanes of Espanya Blvd from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Meanwhile, all westbound lanes on Espanya Blvd, from Lacson to P. Noval streets, will be closed from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on September 15. 

A portion of Dapitan St. (from Lacson to P. Noval) will also be closed on exam days.

Central Philippine University

A section of Lopez Jaena Street (from the corner of San Isidro St. to the corner of Cabangbang St.) will be CLOSED on exam days from 2 a.m to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Private vehicles will be permitted to enter the closed portion of Lopez Jaena St. solely for drop-off at the campus’ Gate 3. This follows a one-way traffic with entry at the San Isidro St. corner and the exit at Cabangbang St. corner.
