The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday said that its operatives have rescued three human trafficking victims from a massage clinic allegedly used as a prostitution den in Pagadian City.

In a statement, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said initial information showed that the establishment was being used as a prostitution den where massage therapists allegedly performed lascivious acts on customers.

Payments for such acts ranged from P700 to P2,000.

Last July 30, joint operatives of the Pagadian District Office and Western Mindanao Regional Office conducted an entrapment and rescue operation on the establishment. The Philippine National Police and the Pagadian Social Welfare and Development Office assisted in the operation.

An individual was arrested for violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012, who was later underwent inquest proceedings. Authorities also filed charges against the owner of the establishment.
