BUDGET Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said on Tuesday that the P5 billion additional funding for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) was approved.

“This will help alleviate the effects of inflation on our fellow citizens. The DBM (Department of Budget and Management) will do its part to streamline budget processes so that our citizens benefit from faster and more efficient delivery of essential services such as our 4Ps,” Pangandaman said.

The additional funding for 4Ps, an initiative of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), was sourced from last year’s continuing appropriations as mandated by Republic Act 11936. The money will be used to cover the 2023 4Ps grants in arrears, benefiting approximately 703,888 indigent families.
