DAVAO CITY, Philippines — At least five people were killed in a road crash involving a motorcycle, dump truck and pickup truck in Sta. Maria town in Davao Occidental yesterday.
According to police investigation, the pickup truck was running at high speed when it overshot a curve and hit the motorcycle and the dump truck.
It added that the motorcycle driver, her cousin and two dump truck passengers died at the scene. The dump truck driver was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The investigation also showed that the pickup truck driver, who is undergoing surgery, was driving under the influence.
Police has filed charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and damage to properties against the pickup truck driver.
