INDANG, Cavite — The recently concluded ROTC Games 2024 showcased the talents and skills of student cadets from various universities across the nation.
Held from August 20 to 24 in the scenic town of Indang, the event attracted a large crowd of spectators, supporters, and dignitaries, including Senator Francis Tolentino, who served as the guest of honor.
The ROTC Games, a highly anticipated event in the annual cadet calendar, featured a series of competitive activities ranging from marksmanship, obstacle courses, and tactical drills, to team sports such as basketball and volleyball.
This year’s edition saw participation from over 50 schools, with thousands of cadets competing for the coveted ROTC championship title.
In his closing remarks, Senator Francis Tolentino emphasized the importance of the ROTC program in fostering discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the youth. He commended the participating cadets for their dedication and hard work, stating, “The ROTC Games not only hone the skills of our future leaders but also instill a sense of duty and service to our nation. It is inspiring to witness the commitment of our youth to serve and protect our country.”
The event also served as a platform for promoting camaraderie and teamwork among the participants. The highlight of the games was the much-anticipated “Battle of the Colleges,” where top teams faced off in a series of challenges that tested their physical and mental fortitude. The University of the East emerged victorious, taking home the championship trophy, while the University of the Philippines and De La Salle University secured second and third place, respectively.
