MANILA, Philippines — Up to 878 personnel of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) have been cleared of illegal drug use after they tested negative during a surprise drug test.
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said among those who underwent drug testing were uniformed personnel, civilians and job-order employees of the penal farm.
“The surprise drug test manifests DPPF’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of government service and ethics among its ranks,” the BuCor said yesterday.
The tests were conducted by the office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency based in Davao del Norte.
DPPF acting superintendent C/S Insp. Edgardo Mendoza told the workers to perform their duties within the bounds of the law.
Mendoza reminded them to remain faithful to their sworn duties and “display utmost professionalism and integrity” in performing their tasks.
