ABS-CBN Music scores 31 nods for 37th Awit Awards

ABS-CBN Music has garnered 31 nominations for the 37th Awit Awards, scheduled to take place later this year.

BINI’s “Pantropiko” is up for five awards: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Performance by a Group, Best Pop Recording, and Best Engineered Recording. The group’s single “Karera” is nominated for Best Inspirational Recording and Best Music Video.

Maki’s viral hit “Saan?” is nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Recording. The rising band Nameless Kids is a contender for Album of the Year with their release Manila In Bloom.

Maymay Entrata is recognized with four nominations, including Best Global Collaboration Recording and Best Remix Recording for “Autodeadma” featuring Wooseok of Pentagon, and Best Regional Recording and Best Engineered Recording for “Tsada Mahigugma.”

Newcomers JEL REY, Misha de Leon, and Lyka Estrella are nominated for Best Performance by a New Solo Artist for their songs “hele pono,” “Damdamin,” and “Hawak Mo,” respectively.

The It’s Showtime kids, Imogen, Kulot, and Lucas, are nominated for Best Recording by a Child or for Children for their individual releases: “Mini Miss U,” “Clap Clap Clap,” and “Learn The 1,2,3.”

ABS-CBN’s 2023 Christmas ID theme song, “Pasko ang Pinakamagandang Kwento,” is also up for Best Christmas Recording.

Additional nominees from ABS-CBN Music include Jamie Rivera, Jed Madela, Francine Diaz, and KD Estrada for Best Inspirational Recording with “Faith, Hope, and Love,” and Troy Laureta, Sheryn Regis, and Wendy Moten for Best Global Collaboration Recording with “Come In Out of the Rain.” Troy’s “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika” is nominated for Best Musical Arrangement, along with the Dirty Linen theme song arranged by Rommel and Idonnah Villarico.

BGYO’s Akira and JL’s “Be Mine” from Senior High is up for Best Original Soundtrack Recording. Kim Chiu’s “Ms. Ukay” earns a nod for Best Novelty Recording, while Darren’s “Bibitaw Na” is nominated for Best Engineered Recording.

P-pop group 1621BC is nominated for Best Performance by a Group for “Laruan,” and Yosha Honasan is recognized for Best Jazz Recording with “Karakaraka.” Ben&Ben and Belle Mariano’s “Autumn” is a contender for Best Remix.
