Batangas Port authorities are preparing for an influx of passengers for the long weekend from August 23 to 26, 2024 with expectations of a significant increase in foot traffic compared to regular days.

According to the port management, between 8,000 to 12,000 passengers were expected on the first day of the long holiday weekend, a notable increase from the usual 5,000 to 6,000 daily foot traffic.

The number of sea-bound travelers is expected to double on August 24 as more people take advantage of the extended break.

In response, security measures inside the passenger terminal building have been tightened.

The port continues to enforce a strict ban on bringing pork products due to the threat of African Swine Fever (ASF).

Sinocruz also reminded travelers to comply with regulations, to ensure a smooth and safe journey during the busy holiday weekend.

Huwag niyo na pong ipilit, maaantala lang kayo,” he said. — GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog
