SENATOR Ronald Dela Rosa on Friday said he will not submit himself to the International Criminal Court (ICC) or even the International Police (Interpol) in connection with the ongoing investigation of the Duterte administration’s bloody drug war, during which he served as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“The ICC is not part of our government. The Interpol is not over and above the chain of our Philippine National Police,” Dela Rosa said.
He added however, that if the ICC wants to interview him, they should write him a formal communication.
“If it’s just an interview, why not? I will not be rude, but it doesn’t mean that I am submitting, recognizing their jurisdiction over my person,” Dela Rosa stressed.
In the event that the Interpol would seek the help of the PNP in serving his warrant of arrest, the former police chief said he has no quarrel with the police.
According to Dela Rosa, he will submit himself to authorities if only there is an order from a Philippine court, or if the order will come from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
